SUMMARY:FPV Field Day
DESCRIPTION:In our new FPV format\, we are going to dedicate the second Sunday of each month as an FPV Field Day at Poplar Ford Field. Fixed wing line of sight RC activities are still permitted\, but need to give way for FPV fixed wing or multi-rotor activities which can include setting up race gates on the runway. \nOn these FPV Field Days\, all NVRC members wishing to fly fixed wing line of sight are welcome to use the Lorton Field – even if you do not have the normal Lorton membership tag on your badge.

SUMMARY:Vintage RC Fly & Tell
DESCRIPTION:It’s a gathering of the Northern Virginia Vintage Radio Control Society – NVVRCS for short! Just rolls off the tongue\, doesn’t it! \nThe Vintage Radio Control Society celebrates the history of RC aeromodeling\, specifically planes designed for radio control more than 35 years ago (pre 1984 this year). More information on the VRCS is at their website here http://vintagercsociety.org/cms3/ and in a great article here http://modelaviation.com/vrcs \nThis gathering will be a vintage “Fly and Tell” for telling the stories of these great planes\, how they came to be\, how they influenced us as individuals. We will have some friendly competition and prizes too\, and the field is not closed to other flyers so come on out with your planes\, old or new\, and see what’s going on!

SUMMARY:GWU RC Competition Demonstration
DESCRIPTION:For a few weeks NVRC has been helping the George Washington University aeronautics team with their intramural radio control airplane competition and they are excited to share what they have made! Come see them deploy and retrieve a sensor while in flight! This year the team leaped forward from a history of not having a succesfull flying aircraft to crushing the competition and now being ranked 22 globally!
