SUMMARY:Lorton Glider Day
DESCRIPTION:NVRC is having its open house Glider Fun Fly October 4th at our Lorton Burnett Field. The weather in October is always great so come on out and fly your glider with us and the Vultures. Lorton usually has great thermals so expect some great soaring. All club members and guests are welcome\, flyers must have a valid AMA membership. Powered and unpowered gliders are welcome. Lorton does require that anyone at the field must wear a safety vest while on the Landfill property so please remember to bring yours\, the club will have some extras as well.  No Landing Fee.\nLOCATION INSTRUCTIONS\nFor site access please come to the field\, no need to stop at the main office. After you enter the facility and pass around the weigh-in scale\, you will see the main administration building with the flagpole on your right. Pass the administration building parking lot and then take the left-hand turn to Lot D onto Earl Delanuder Road. Stay on the main road as it bears to the right. At the first Stop sign make a left. To your right on top of the hill you should be able to see the field and metal shelter from the main road. Turn right at the access road and follow the road up the hill to the field. DESCRIPTION:In our new FPV format\, we are going to dedicate the second Sunday of each month as an FPV Field Day at Poplar Ford Field. Fixed wing line of sight RC activities are still permitted\, but need to give way for FPV fixed wing or multi-rotor activities which can include setting up race gates on the runway. \nOn these FPV Field Days\, all NVRC members wishing to fly fixed wing line of sight are welcome to use the Lorton Field – even if you do not have the normal Lorton membership tag on your badge.
